Hence, the decision to move up to a 150g. I would have liked to go bigger, but it was going upstairs and I didn't want to stress the floor more than necessary. After speaking to the homebuilder, he felt confident that the floor could support the weight. So I moved forward. I got Richard to custom order me a 150g with one ...

  2. Getting ready for my big upgrade!

I picked up my new tank today, an Oceanic 58g (36x18x21). It will sit on a freshly built stand. I will be transferring all of the equipment from my current tank and will be picking up a few goodies this week. I am waiting for the pin-wheel on my Euro-reef RS-80 to come back from Reef Dynamics on warranty.

Went to the LFS today to get my new bulb. While I was busy with the owner my wife started looking at the fish. She picked out some beauties.

  5. My Canopy Build

I sold my T5s and decided to go back to MHs. I didn't want a fixture, so I would need a canopy. I decided to make my own to save some money. Although in the end I probably spent just as much as if I would have had bought a canopy, I feel the project contributed to a skill I would like to further develop, carpentry. Not to mention the sense of accomplishment that you get from completing the project.

While you look at the pictures remember, this is my first ever carpentry project. It's ...
