  2. More Lighting and Protein Skimmer Quetions!

Ok, I have two PC's lights but they are not the 50/50's, two whites on one and two blues on the other. My question is: Would you put the blues in front of the tank or the whites?

Now protein skimmer question: are you suppose to have any bubbles coming out of the return at all? Also, I still don't have much foam in the cup so I turned it up a little last night, thus creating some bubbles out of the return.

Thanks for ya help in advance!

  3. help finding return pump.

hi all. i need to find a quieter return pump before the wife flips out. i'm running the little giant and it's a little less flow than i want, and way too loud. i can go to 1.5" intake. i'm looking for something that'll flow around 1700-2000 gph.
the snapper would be good but i would have to reduce the intake a bit. any ideas? panworld 200, gen x pcx-150.
    thanks

  4. Lighting Controls!

I want to hook up timers to my lighting system. Each light, fans, and moonlight has a seperate wire. I went to Lowes the other day and seen what they have to offer. Is this where y'all get ya timers from or do they have some other place with timers with a little more control? I noticed they had timers with 1,2, and 3 plugs on them but they could not be seperately controlled. Do they make timers that can have multiple plugs with seperate controls?

    Thanks for the help,

  5. Keeping my tank at a proper temp

so Im having trouble maintaining the temperature at 79 in my 55 gallon with 20 g sump with about 15 g of water in it. Im running 1 150 watt in the return section and 1 100 watt heater in the 2.5 refugium. and 1 100 watt heater in the overflow section of my sump am I better off having one heater or 2? or is more the better? should i have one in the tank?

I completly redesigned my sump and replumbed my whole system will post pics when its completly finished

    Thanks ...
