  2. My ATO resovior - How to make the wife happy

    My wife did not like a big tub sitting by the reef tank, making it quite unsightly. So here are a few pics of my top off reservoir holding. It is a wicker type basket with a Rubbermaid type container with a lockable lid on it. Holds about 10g. Being in the basket keeps light out, so no algae growth, and the lockable lid keeps out dust/particles/animal hair, etc. No need to have to clean the reservoir.   3. Late night photography in Tampa, Florida

    Jessy takes great late night pictures, and I asked her to show me some of her secrets. We walked down to the beach and set up our cameras on tripods, and then commenced shooting. For the stars, 1000 ISO for 8 seconds was just about right for my D90. For the buildings, it was 85 seconds to get an interesting profile with a starburst effect from some lights.

  4. Dosing vs. Calcium reactor

    I have always dosed all my tanks including my current 180 and its getting a little ridiculous with the amounts I am having to add on a daily basis. Would getting a doser be a good idea or would a calcium reactor be a better option? I think I like the idea of a doser better just b/c it seems more consistent and easier to set up and maintain. Opinions please. Thanks Gina

  5. My 240 upgrade (Huge post)

    Now for the rest of the update

    Its the weekend so work has been done, I glad to say the the outside of the fish room is 95% done. Still need to clear coat and cut a piece of trim, trim the rest of the basement and then save for carpet. But I did get paint on the walls, trim installed and have started on the inside. Bulkhead came in yesterday so I can soon start on the plumbing.
