I have found some decent Hang On Back Skimmers but I have been toying with the idea of purchasing an External Protein Skimmer and just plumbing it my aquarium directly. So I'm trying to think of the best way to hang my lighting over my tank. I have this sexy tank, and the only lighting I have for it is a 36 retrofit LED and I'll be getting a couple stunner strips to supplement. It seems a shame to build a traditional canopy for it. Well I ordered my SW test kit and the agua lifter pump Melev recommended for my overflow. I put the other side on the overflow and am waiting for it to cure for a day or two and will water test it. Was going to order my 4x54 watt T5 fixture this weekend but a bad battery in my car took the funds so its gonna have to wait. Its moving a lot slower than I wanted but life and money are interfering
Well I set up the new 55 gallon home for the 3 green spotted puffer fish only to find that one of the green spotted puffer fish had committed suicide and jumped out of the tank and onto the floor roughly 5 feet below. I watched one of them do it when I was home, figured he was dead from the fall but I got him back into the tank and was fine a few hours later.
