I asked a question about cooking rock a while back and looking back on it I think I asked the wrong question. I have about 40 lbs of rock that is now sitting in a container with saltwater in it, I want to dump the water and refill the container with fresh water and kill all life on the rock and start frresh, use it as base rock I guess. What would the best way to do this, using bleach in the water I soak the rock in? Any help would greatly appreciated, thanks.
Well, I spent most of the weekend pouring over my books and various web sites trying to figure out what I'm going to do with this tank. One of the issues is a 2' wide center brace that refuses to clean up. Something is clouding it that I can't even scrape off with a razor. Almost looks like it's etched. It's also low enough that the underside will always be covered in algae or salt creep. So the center of the tank is going to be a bit dark no matter what I do. So I think at least for now I'm ...

That should about do it. I want a sand bed, but not a really deep one. We also picked up a couple of base rocks at another store in Milwaukee, then had the most fantastic dinner at the Taj Mahal Indian Restaurant. If you are ever in West Allis, WI, have dinner there--lovely naan!

Almost looked as if it was puking its guts out literally. Moments later it looks like this. I had forgot ...
