  1. Very sad. LM Blenny on his way out.

Have you ever watched one of your fish slowly waste away and there was nothing you could do about it? That's happening to our lawnmower blenny, who is our system's oldest fish. He is one of only two fish, along with a clown, who has been there through all three tanks over the past 4 or 5 years. He's always been extremely active, constantly eating, and very outgoing. His belly has been full sized his whole life. Last week I looked in the tank and he's suddenly skin and bones, like his stomach ...
  2. Ordered the new hood...

Thursday I put the order in for the new aquarium hood, with my favorite woodworking shop, LD Marcenaria (great quality, they built all my apartment to my design).

The sketch below shows the hood's design, it is high so my DIY LED fixture will fit inside it, with the controller and the power source above it (on the tray that crosses the middle). The controller is the glassy box on the tray, and the power source is the smaller gray box.

  3. Recomendations for the Process of Dosing Kalk +2.

Well I have been having an issue with low pH so I decided to purchase a bottle of Brightwell Aquatics Kalk +2. What would be the best method of dosing the into my aquarium? I have a 40 gallon Breeder aquarium for the display with no sump. I was going to mix the top off water with the Brightwell Aquatics Kalk +2 and use a drip in an area of high flow since I don't have an Auto Top Off or a Dosing Pump. Any thoughts?

    Enjoy.

  5. New 10g All-In-One

My new 10g AIO is officially up and running. The rock in it has been curing for the last 2 1/2 months. This tank is the future home of my clown fish pair and a BTA.

I put some black acrylic on the inside to hide the filtration. I thought I'd rather do that than black spray paint. It looks a touch off with the silicone right now, but I think it'll look better when it's wet. I decided if it didn't look right I would likely build some wood pieces down the side of the canopy to hide ...
