I'm looking to start breeding cardinal fish. Has anyone here ever done this successfully? I'm looking for good setup ideas(ie how many tanks, lighting, additives, and any other equipment). My goal is to breed and record my experiences. Hopefully we as hobbyists can make an impact in the collection of wild fish. To allow the reefs to rebuild and replenish itself. Well this past weekend was the final push with finishing everything up on my new 75g reef ready tank. I'd like to say it went off without a hitch, but frankly it didn't, and I've had some losses since I started moving everything christmas weekend. Long story short, I should have given it a bit more time to cycle, or only moved 1 fish over at a time instead of all 4 from my 29g, as I had a small (1.0ppm at it's highest) nitrite only spike. Well, After breaking down my 120 gallon and cleaning it, painting it and other general maintenance. It's back on the stand in the living room, I awoke to find a cat "fish" already in the tank, See photo below . ( so, another wash and wipe...) Yesterday I acquired a 29 gallon long for use as my sump, ( maybe too big, but am running with it...)
