I have questions that need answers.
Hello All, My weekend project was to build a Quarantine Tank and start it cycling. I built the cabinet from scratch wood leftovers and the tank used to be a red ear slider Turtle tank. All in all I'm impressed that it's straight and level... lol. Now, I've read a lot about the various ways to cycle a tank and was wondering if anyone has ever tried the dead shrimp into the tank as a biological medium to start the cycle on its way? And what is the relationship ...
Hello, I think Ive decided to go with a Marineland tank I got a quote from one of my LFS for a 90gal 48x18x24 and a 75gal 48x18x20. I still haven't decided on what one I'm going to get yet. I asked the guy if I could get starphire glass on the front and sides and that they didn't do that, Well I thought to myself Ive seen other people post that they had a Marineland tank with starphire I thought Melevs was that way as well, So I emailed them to see if it was still possible. (I hope so but ...
So I got a used 75gallon acrylic tank that didn't work out (Hey it could be worse!!) I got other goodies that all work so I'm still good with it. I now find myself in the market as it were, And Ive been looking around and I'm going glass. Glasscages.com was the main place I was looking (unless anyone has a better suggestion) The 2 tanks I was looking at were a 65gal 48x18x17tall base price 149$ with Starphire an 3 sides, overflow, cover for overflow (35$ do I need this?) and bulkheads (30$ can I ...

I stoped by a lfs and found these tanks today. I was just wondering if any one has seen these set ups before. I am in the process of making room in the basement for my fish room which has been kind of slow due to me being crippled up from a work injury in 08 so depending some on a bother in law that thinks im nuts. Taking out a 5 ft thick sandstone block and dirt support wall has really sucked, but since im now retired at 36 i need to full some time so i going to get back into it with both feet. ...
I've got a SCWD new in the box that's been sitting around for a few years. I've always been afraid to use it since i had hair algae problems and was afraid it would clog up continually. Well, the Algae problems are a thing of the past, so I'm dusting it off. My Tank is a 50 long, mixed reef. Any idea what pump rating I should go with? I'm thinking around 1,000 gph. Anyone have any experience with the Panworld pumps that BRS carries? Thanks Phil ...
