I have questions that need answers.
I'm not usually one to complain about noise, but noise associated with vibration gets on my nerves. I have this Iwaki MD-20RT pump that I bought years about, probably in 2006. I never used the pump, and before this weekend never ran it more than a few minutes. It's rated for high head, and seems to run cool enough, but there is significant vibration coming off of the unit. It's driving me nuts! I can feel the vibration on the ground NEXT to the stand though the carpet. ...
Anyone know how to do this? I can't seem to find any info on the web about reefers doing this with their home pumps. I'm trying to figure out whether to use the snapper changeover on my reeflo pump and throttle it back or use the dart and let it run more wide open...
Good morning all; I was looking for some input for my new tank setup. I have a dirt floor basement which I'm thinking about putting my sump at, it would be on a stand directly under my tank. It's a 60 gallon 3 compartment sump, so I would have plenty of room for my skimmer, refugium, heaters, and all. It would give me about 10-12 ft of head pressure to overcome, but there are plenty of pumps out there to use. The temp stays pretty constant year around. Just joined last night, I've been doing salt and fresh tanks since I was 8 now it's mostly salt and the occasional fresh to get friends and family into the aquarium hobby.
