Do It Yourself projects
Anyone know of a reef safe, preferably easily available at home depot or lowes, plastic dip for magnets? I would love to make my own frag mags and use them for other in-tank reef applications. Thanks in advance.
Howdy Reef Addicts! I have finally completed the fish/equipment room in my basement! I built a 6' x 8' room that will hold my sump, filtration, water top off, chemicals, etc. All reef related items. I really like talking about this project but I'm going to do my best to keep this simple along the way. After failing to find the product I wanted last night and spending about an hour reading on my iphone I was able to find sealants and epoxy that will work. I've always loved mixed materials in buildings and designs. The last home my family built had dark, charcoal grey polished concrete floors. My room had light green walls and rich wood furniture. It was actually very calming. Since then I've played around with a few ideas. Having run two previous successful tests on algae patches in my tank and having no negative results to date, I thought I share the process. I used the following- 1 cap full of peroxide 1/2 tsp baking soda Baby medicine eye dropper Small plastic dosing cup Turkey baster Mix the peroxide and baking soda together in a small cup and mix until the baking soda is dissolved but viscous.
