  1. Lighting, check!

20k MH mounted over the tank now... I like enough I'm going to keep it - kind of. I'm going to drop down to a 14k and then add a couple 2' T5 actinics.

I restacked the rock, much better now as I have some great ledges for coral (might not be clear in the picture.) I also have plenty of room for the rock from the old tank that I'll start moving over in a week or two.

  2. Waters Flowing...

Well I have the baffles in and water flowing in the tank. I have to let the dust settle a bit before I do anything else. You can see it's quite cloudy. I have my cheep lighting on just so I can get a true measure of clarity. I've scrapped the in tank refgu. I'm going to use a 5g above the tank that I'll get to at a later date.

You can see all the temporary plumbing and filter sock that I'm using to clear the haze.

  3. Did I kill my new frags?

Last night I traded a frogspawn frag for a hawkins echinata and a pearlberry frag, but I was on my way up to a commitment that I had to fulfill. It was about 10 degrees outside, but since the car would only be cold for a couple hours and I had the frags sealed in a cooler I thought the water wouldn't cool down much. Boy was I wrong. I grabbed them when it was time to drive home and the water was pretty cold, so I tried to hold them in front of the heater the entire hour I was driving home. I ...

  5. Parts are starting to arrive...

So I'm using the "New Additions" category. I hope that ok for hardware as it kind of sounds like livestock/coral... At any rate, I just got a little something in the mail that might be a bit overkill for this build... MP40... I might actually have to get an MP20 if the 40 is unmanageable I should know in about a week if I'll have to down grade.

I'm hoping to get water moving in the tank by next friday. I'm going to run about two-three weeks with only substrate and ...
