Last weekend, our club had it's semi-annual frag swap. This one is open to members and guests. One thing that I've noticed over the years is how progressive these events are becoming. The first few that I attended, you had corals in about a cup of water in a ziplock bag, lying on a table. If you were lucky, the name and price was written on the bag with a sharpie. A couple of people would go to a lot of trouble to bag their corals up in a professional manner, floating their corals upside down ...
I originally wanted to take a purist approach and only house Clowns and BTAs, however, the more I looked at my rockscape the more I envisioned a SMALL variety of corals. I would hate to waste PAR and flow on an anemone that can adapt to low/low conditions, so here is a coral dream team. I just upgraded to a bigger tank over the summer, and when looking into building my new aquascape Marc had mentioned that I should look up "pegging" and sent me a link. In a nutshell, you drill small holes all over your rock and mount your frags on rigid airline tubing pieces about an inch long. Drop the frag in one of your rock holes, and you're done.
