All fish in the sea know how to find their food and in a tank it is even easier for them. The problem is that in the sea Mother Nature supplies food all day, every day. We as humans have other lives and usually don't want to feed our fish continousely. At least I don't. well.... i just bought a giant Australian elegance coral last night and i was un-aware of there terrible survival rates in the captivity, Nothing is wrong with the coral as of now (knock on wood) so hopefully it will not get elegance flu and die on me (knock on wood). But with my luck it probably will, However i also purchased two Acans that are nothing short of beauty in its purest form. I hear they are much better in captivity.. hardy even! however there will be no more pre-researched purchases ...

My tank has recently gone from 4 to 5 healthy specimens. I started with one RBTA about a year and a half ago. It was a large specimen at the LFS - I'd say 8-10" across. Within days of introducing it into my then 125 gal aquarium, it split into two smaller specimens. And they continued to grow until January this year when I introduced them into my 180g. Within hours of introduction, they both split again. I can almost certainly say that both occurrences of a split were survival splits ...
