Currently I am running a 6 bulb t5 setup at 54 watts a piece on a 48' long 75 gallon that hand about 3" above the water. I have always wanted and have tried on a few occasions to keep your standard acropora and millepora with no positive results to report all parameters are reading good, nitrate, phosphate, ammonia, mag, calc, dkh but I keep reading that rapid bleaching (which is what I keep experiencing) is caused by too much light and too little light results in browning and discoloration. ...
So, I'm beginning this blog entry before I upload my pictures. A few days ago I wrote up a blog entry showing a picture that made me think my tank had microbubbles in it. It looks to have a really strong orange/red color and it's seems to have guidelines for care like other montipora, but I was wondering if any of y'all have this coral & if so where is it's placement in u're tank w/ reguards to flow & lighting.
This entry will discuss equipment that I pan on using for my 300g build. Automation will be handled by the APEX controller that I already have. I will be adding an EB8 and possibly a 2nd ph probe to handle the Calc reactor. The return pump is Reeflo Dart that has been collecting dust in the garage. SMR1 Bio-pellet Reactor, I already have this running on the current setup. ...
