  1. Psuedochromis Elongatus Likes to eat Red & Gold Coco Worms

Just in case you didn't know my Psuedo Elongatus loves to go into the tube of my red and gold coco worm and rip its feathers off its head. It's done this dastardly deed twice today so I've put the victim in the fuge for the time being. I kinda want to get the little punk out of my reef. I've seen him nip at overturned snails too.

    But...he's just so darn pretty...

On a side note, my lobo fell over on to my favorite orange yuma and nuked it as well as a good portion ...
  2. Crab - Judgment Day

I have been watching a black crab, that looks and acts like an emerald crab. His claws are white and flat on the tips (like an emerald crab) but seem to be a bit more "serrated" on the inside in the arch. I have not witnessed any mischievous behavior but I wanted to see what judgment should be cast on the guy. Should let him stay in the display or IF I can catch him (and that s a big IF) should I banish him to the sump?

I have a video of him from last night.

  3. Remember to clean your skimmer pump(s).

My Euroreef skimmer has two Eheim 1262 pumps on it. When I have to clean the collection cup, I turn off one pump and leave the other running. I do the same thing if the cup is overflowing, because within the body of the skimmer, foam builds up with all kinds of dreck. Once the cup is clean, I start the second pump and all that stuff is immediately exported.

Today I did just that, I turned off one pump and noticed how the body of the skimmer was full of water and very little bubbles. ...

  4. Cube of Fun update (Pictures and Video)

Well, took part in my first frag-swap over the weekend. I found the event very interesting and exciting. I reserved some items in advance and of course I had to make a few impromptu acquisitions as well. I have pictures and video of the new critters! Please forgive my camera skills, still learning the how to operate the new camera.

  5. DIY 4 Gallon Pico

I've assembled a small tank that's going to be going into my wife's office at her work. Wanted something small with built in filtration and able to be lit by either a small PC or LED setup.

Made of acrylic 3/16" -- scraps from TAP Plastics, great for learning on
    Dimensions
total: 9" wide, 9" tall, 11" long, 2.5" of that in the back is going to be used for the built in filtration/pump, probably be using a foam insert just under the overflow ...
