I tried to use a 2 ton jack to lift up that busy intersection of the trusses, but it didn't have the strength. I try again tomorrow with a bigger jack to raise that low spot up 1".
The 12' 2x4 was put in place next to the other rafter that appeared to be dipping, but with the new one next to it, the problem seemed unfounded. I may nail it on tomorrow anyway just to add a little strength since that one is running directly over the reef tank.
I decided to set up the Skimmer Swabbie tonight, which is sold by Avast Marine. Everything was going great until I discovered the squeegee was too large for my collection cup. Here are the images.
This is the lid they provided. The motor is affixed to the top (no picture of that tonight)
The set screw holds the shaft to the metal pin you see in the center of the lid above.
Pressed in firmly, I used the provided allen wrench to secure it.
In this picture, you can see how the lid doesn't fit down all the way because the squeegee is too tall.
It shouldn't come down and touch the union.
The bracket shouldn't touch the opposite side of the neck.
So I emailed Avast tonight to see about getting a replacement squeegee that fits better/correctly.
