We sorted through all the frags downstairs and pulled what we wanted for the display. The rockwork is still not perfect, and all the fish are in hiding from us placing frags, but this is what we ended up with for now.
Looking good already, bet y'all glad it's up and running! ;-)
I think several tufts of seagrass would look great in there. Not sure if the hippo would have an issue that though.
I'm actually doing a 90 in more of a lagoon style, so I'll be looking into seagrass for that tank.
Looks good Amy!
maybe a background or some paint to hide the wires in the rear of the tank. other than that it looks great.
Ah, yes. The wires. I did crop this pic, but we're running temporary lighting thanks to our upgrade in size. The permanent canopy will have wiring routed properly, I promise. The tank is actually set up peninsula style since we have three sides viewable. (Two long, and one short) The opposite short end where my overflow and all the plumbing are located is painted black. Also, I've changed things in the display already, lol! I'll update pics in the next few weeks. Probably. I should also mention we've decided to break down the frag tanks downstairs. I'm feeling stretched a bit thin responsibility-wise, and that is one easy thing to eliminate. We're replacing the frag tanks with another display, however. I picked up a 90 full set up for pennies on the dollar, and I'm in the process of transforming it into an agressive/predator tank. I have a frogfish already, and am planning to add a fu manchu lion, a long nosed hawkfish, and a trigger of some sort. I've envisioned a lagoon style tank, full of softies, leathers, zoa/palys, macro algae and/or sea grasses. I'll have to see if my aquascaping reality matches the vision, lol!
