Some things have gotten done

I have been taking things slow, as I do not want to rush into anything with this tank. I am also now waiting on my wife, the teacher, to start getting paid again. It's tough to start stocking a tank when your account says stop, no, and don't.

I ordered this 48" LED light from Reefkoi.com. They carry many different styles of LED fixtures and this one seem to fit my bill the best.

EvoSlim Aluminum Striplight 48" 36watt

The one I have is composed of mostly 8000k LEDs with four blues mixed in. They will make them any way you want but it may take time as they don't order LEDs often.

As you can tell, I puts out mega light and covers the refugium nicely.

This auto top off system has been set up since day one of the tank. This supply gives me about 9 days of top off water.

I used a Auto top off system from aquahub.com, the only problem is the relay has stopped working right and so I had to rewire the float switches inline with the power until I can get a new relay.

Due to fundage, I still don't have the manifold plumbed. For this reason I am running the bio pellet reactor off of a small pump. Carbon and calcium reactors are not online yet.

As you can see from the photo, I have a ton of room in the sump. I don't expect it to ever be too cramped to work on any thing.

Coming along nicely. The fuge light seems to fit just about perfect. Is it a special order item, or did you just happen to find one that worked out so well?

This is a normal fixture they offer, follow the link to view, the Spectrum that this light has is custom.

Is there a reason you chose reefkoi lights over other companies out there? I'm also looking for led lights, I'm trying to do as much research as possible to ensure I make the best choice.

Neenah, I chose reefkoi mainly due to the application that the lights were needed for. I needed a fixture that would cover a 8 by 52 refugium and I need a kelvin that would grow algae. The fixture that Marc has over his refugium would have worked great also. However, he is got the inside connection for freebies, so the price of mine was better than what I could have gotten his for. Also for a main tank application you may want features like dimming or adjusting the spectrum, I didn't need these.

    Looking good!

I had a similar issue with my aquahub top off system recently. Discovered that they've switched to a 24V system from the original 12V system. So the relays they sell won't work with an older power supply. I did find a source for the 12V relays through Amazon, but they took about 3 weeks to arrive.

Hey, that's one of those Melev's Reef top-off-systems huh. Very nice systems I hear.

Yes Henry, Marc insisted that I have the full set. He didn't offer to come plumb it all together Melev's way though.
