It took me a while too, and I still undecided if I like it but i'm slowly getting the hang of navigating the site and blogs.

Interesting. . . the page I get to is /list.php/section/1-welcome with a Title of articles. I have never dealt with Vbulletin so i don't know how it handles the news pages. On the sites I have setup it shows all the current and past articles posted on the main page about 10 to 25 at a time. What it could be doing is showing the ones that are not listed on the main page but I believe there are more than 3 that are not shown so this is something Marc and his people will have to look into. You may want to use the article index on the left hand side and look through the categories instead for past items.

For example, if you are on the home page, and go to the bottom of the page and click 'view all' you don't get to 'view all'. You get taken to some random page. Is that what you see when you click it, or is it just me?

Well it is setup more like a blog/news site than a forum. One of the things that may help is to bookmark the blog pages that you want to follow, especially if you don't check in every day. Also check your profile and see if you are automatically subscribing to things you post to. This will then set you up so that you receive an e-mail if there is a reply to something. Or on the right hand side underneath the persons picture on a post you can click "subscribe to this blog" if you just want to follow along. Alternatively bookmark your favorite posters profile page and click on the blog tab to see what they have been up to.

I enjoy the forums as well where people can look at a glance and see where things have new stuff happening with a main page where news can be posted. But this isn't too bad once you figure out a few tricks to help you along.

I would actually compare the blog feature to an old style BBS than anything.

Does it specify what salinity/SG those values are measured at? I read somewhere some of the manufacturers claim "Makes x gallons of water!" but print in very small letters that is at 1.018 (or something lower than most reefers keep it at). In real use, most people don't get anywhere near what they claim.

Could they be doing this in reverse (i.e. publishing those great numbers, but they are at 1.030 or something else higher than most would use)? I'm not really that thrilled with Instant Ocean/Reef Crystals and am always looking for a better salt mix.

I made an error in posting. I am changing to LumenArcs, and wrote LumenBrights by mistake. From what I understand, Lumenarcs spread the light better, whereas Lumen Brights are more concentrated. I have a short canopy, so I needed the spread.

Lumenbrights can be hung higher, where Lumenarc are closer to the water. The picture above is a Lumenarc.

I too am running the pellets on my new system. I ordered Vertex NP since Ecobak was out of stock, and have a new NextReef reactor to put them in. Hopefully we can continue to post good results and can finally put N & P issues behind us in this hobby. Remember, the output of your reactor needs to be near the intake of the skimmer's pumps to exported dying bacteria from the system.

Just wondering, you said your reflector in the middle is a Lumen Bright Mini. The picture you posted after stating you're going to change out all three is a Lumenarc (mini?). Are you going to go away from the Lumen Brights? If so, why?

I'm currently running a pair of Lumenarc Minis and I'm thinking of going with Lumen Brights in my coming setup and if there's a reason to avoid them I would like to find out before I buy them.

Wow, there really is a big difference with the lighting in the photo. It almost looks like there isn't any lights on the ends. Nice tank btw!

Wow, I love that!!! Hopefully I can find some local. Salt is one of those drygoods I just prefer to buy in my city.

@Sedor: Yes, I am excited by what the next few weeks may bring. When I started the pellets, I was at .03 on a Hanna photometer. After 12 days, I am at .04. But I am due for a water change, and I did pull my GFO offline when I added the pellets, so a rise in Po4 is to be expected till the pellets kick in.

@Spyder: As I understand it, the pellets are a constant carbon source, not a one time shot. So the skimmer will continually be pulling out more than normal before the pellets were added.

Question about the skimmer; wouldn't it only pull extra until it gets the tank down to the skimmers minimum load and then just settle back to where it was running before?

I've been running these pellets for about 3 months now and am VERY satisfied with them. I was originally dosing 20 ml of vodka daily and because of the pellets I don't have to do that and my no3 still stays at 0. Vodka never did much for my po4 either, but the pellets have sucessfully knocked that down to 0 as well! Overall, welcome to the club. This is an amazing new product! Your right it takes about 4 weeks for them to kick in, but they are set and forget.

Nice! Where did you buy the basket and container? You inspired me to do the same, and I'm having a hard time finding a basket and container that are close in size and have a lid on the basket.

Fits perfect! I need to do something like this for my electrical stuff somehow... I hate having my ballast in the stand but it looks tacky everywhere else.

Hell the whole reactor is behind there!

Nice! Who says you have to hide everything in the stand.
I notice it also hides your CO2 bottle, two birds with one stone.

Very nice and clean looking! You've given me an idea for the ATO I'm about to do. Thanks! ;-)
