Thanks. Sorry, that light that runs for 2 hours is indeed sunlight.
Nice suggestions in your blog above. I like the shrimp egg discovery the most, of course. Great find! In your comment, you mentioned a light that runs two hours, but it looks like sunlight. Did you mean to include more information?
The cheapest light available if you can get it. took these the other day with a camera box. I get about 2 hours of full light on one half of the tank.
Thanks! You should of seen my setup in the beginning...tiny diameter pipe and tons of 90 deg elbows. I forgot to mention the real big downside of using 90's. If I remember the flow restriction correctly...for each 90 deg elbow used, it's the equivalent of adding 2 feet of linear pipe to your run.
Great writeup, you cant overemphasize the importance of proper plumbing. I don't know how many setups i have seen with the return pump connected to a 90 right off the sump. two or three 90s and your flow could be really reduced to a fraction of what your paying for. the trend seems to be hard plumbing, if done right poses no problems. But its hard to beat good ole flexible tubing..
Thanks! My T5 switch is happening as soon a friend build a canopy for me, can't wait!
Great entry! I will be looking forward to new "green" blogs! FWIW.. I switched from all MH to T-5's about 2 years ago, and I save roughly $85/month. My color and growth has exploded, and I couldn't be happier! Everyone should go T-5's!
Thanks for this awesome entry!
