that's my neighbors car hes been working on it it needed a driveshaft at the time i took the pic. hes been driving it here lately

the sump is working out well so far plenty of room and easy access to everything. i really like the filter sock trey versus the filter sock holders i seems so be quieter for both in sump noise and overflow noise from the tank

Beautiful setup! Look at all those duncans; and that is a pretty big head of Tubastrea too. Thanks for sharing.

Acrylic is not a viable option. If you want cross braces, use glass. If you want eurobracing, use glass. It needs to be 1/2" thick glass, cut and polished to remove sharp edges so you never get cut reaching into your tank.

Any glass/window shop should be able to cut glass to your specs or you can take the tank to them for them to measure. Even small towns have a glass shop.

ahh, i was wondering about that, so im guessing i cant euro brace it with acrylic lol. im just not comfortable working with glass and theres not really any paces to cut the glass for me to make it a viable option .

Silicone does not bond well enough to acrylic to use that combo for bracing. What you could do is euro brace it, I have seen a ton of people remove braces and add euro bracing. I usually do water changes from the sump that way you do not disturb the livestock in the display.

I would recommend a glass center brace i ran a 125 with a center 6" or so glass brace without any problems. I dont know if one bigger brace vs two smaller braces is more or less efficient. hopefully someone else will chime in.

Or at least another regular power head in the mean time.

A friend tested his MP10 in my 55 gal reef once. As you found out it's hard to cover the whole tank from one end in such a narrow tank. The sides tend to reduce and diffuse the flow too much. However, we were able to pretty good random flow, and even a standing wave going by putting a standard Koralia power head on the opposite end of the tank. We figured the best set up would be 2 MP10's on opposite ends synced in reverse mode.

Cool, welcome to the site. You may want to do some research on the bio-balls in the sump. Most people stopped using them years ago because of nitrate issues.
