those Zero edge Classics are amazing no doubt about it, but they appear to be prone to disaster, not to mention expensive, i bet you can have a local acrylic shop make a similar product much cheaper, the trick is using the CNC to make sure routed top edge is rounded and level

I would not risk having a tank like this as a display tank, but maybe a specimen tank or species tank with a smaller volume

I think the presentation is better than most (such as Elos cube) and they carry prices comparable at $1000 U.S. and most at $1500 up by the time you include LED light fixture. If you can afford the Zeroedge Classic go for it and keep everyone on the blog posted on your opinions. Good luck.

They are expensive! Wonder though if you broke down the cost of the sump, real wood stand, plumbing and the cost of the acrylic tank what that would cost?

@ partman you are correct. I put the link to the wrong aquarium on here. The price up above is for the classic Zeroedge

Actually no one read the link. These new "Edge" tanks do not in fact overflow like the classic Zeroedge Aquariums. They in fact have a return and drain as in a standard reef ready aquarium. Much prettier and probably better quality than a standard reef ready with a price to match I'm sure.

    The 22g setup is $1,595
would surely have to watch what fish you put in it
they claim that the way the water flows you don't have salt creep

cool but looks like a salt creep nightmare to me

I've seen one of these once used as a clam viewing tank. The flat water surface makes top-down viewing very easy. I always though that fish could easily get themselves in trouble with this kind of design... but I guess there are pros and cons with every type of tank.

Did ya get a price chuck? If so how much are they going for?

I would love to see one of these.
This design would sure help in dissipating the heat from MH lighting!
I can see from the design of it that it would not work right if not perfectly level. Is hard to tell from the pictures but it looks like they rounded over the top edges of the aquarium for the water to flow over smoothly and down the wall.
LOL would not have thought of a check valve to stop the tank from draining.

I called and talked to the owner of ZeroEdge and she told me all about their product. The setup includes the tank, stand, sump and plumbing kit.

They are really neat Chuck. In the past at MACNA, you could win a huge one. ORA uses one to display their beautiful fish and corals at bigger events.

The important thing is keeping the tank warm enough because so much surface area is exposed to air. You have to clean both the inside and outside of the tank, and it needs to be perfectly level. It relies on a check valve to avoid draining too much during a power outage or pump failure. Snails are sometimes a problem when they climb on the outside since water runs off their shell like a small ramp and can get some water on the floor instead of pouring into the trough.

People that look at tanks like this often get wet unless they are warned first. It is definitely a conversation piece.

LOL @ DJ gotta work that referral deal Marc offers going to need replacement filters down the road

stay away from the sand for a display tank its to fine to use with any kind of flow. The rocks on the other hand are top notch and will buy more for any future builds

LOL That thought did not cross my mind that he could have posted this. I did buy mine from him though and we really do like it. Water tastes so much better than what we were getting from the refill station at the grocery store and so convenient having it hooked up in the kitchen. My fish seem to like it also no more chemical additives!
