So I received my AquaFuge2 from CPR aquatics this week (YAY!). I'm thinking that I'm going to have to move the sump along the side of the stand instead of the back wall, so I can hang the fuge on the inside edge of the tank and see it from the skinny side. This way I can access everything in the sump and still be able to view my fuge. I'm heading up to San Francisco tomorrow and my friend is hooking me up with all kinds of fuge goodies including culerpa prolifera. ...
I'm so excited! I finished my rock work finally. I had to mortar four rocks together and it took me forever to get someone to come over who was willing to offer a hand to get the rocks in the tank with the acrylic rod. I drained the water from the water test a month ago and arranged the rocks in their final position. I added a 5 gallon bucket of sand to cover up the acrylic plate that the rod is threaded into. I've added a few pics here of the rock drilling process. The mortar was from MarcoRocks.com ...
I'm so excited to finally have rock! I received two boxes of 40lbs of rock each from Marcorocks.com this morning. I was super excited when I busted them open and started to take a peek into the box of deliciousness. (Yes, I just described 80lbs of dry rock as boxes of deliciousness. And I'll fight whomever says differently after waiting for a long time to put rock in an empty tank) I'm so impressed with the spread! I sent him a picture of an idea I'm working off of with the rock and asked him for ...
I'm so excited I'm making RO/DI water and its feeding directly into my tank. I've got about 5" and I am getting so excited. The only people I could tell at 11:40 at night were you guys, so here is basically a pointless pictureless post about 5" of water. AND I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER!!! Edit: Added Pics

So this is what I'm thinking for the sump. I'm going to add the baffles to make the mini fuge area. I like fuges more for the critter growth than anything. I'm going to have to play with the ATO and return pump spacing once I figure out the skimmer I'm going to use. I want something that is quiet and small. I'm going to have to do a lot of skimmer research as this is the first time I've had a tank with a sump! :-O
