  1. Complete tank restart and LED light upgrade

As many of you know I had decided to do a restart on my tank and correct earlier mistakes/lack of knowledge from when I started my tank 2 years ago. Several of my corals were dead or dying and I had placed corals into my tank that I later realized was a mistake (Xenia, blue clove polyps, ect...) I looped my pump return from my sump back into my sump again, kept the skimmer running, maintained a constant temperature, maintained choeto in the refugium, and kept the biopellet reactor operational to ...

  2. Restart Update

Well I thought I would give a quick update on what was going on with my tank restart.

I ordered 50lbs of keylargo rock from Marco Rock that has arrived.

I purchased a 10 gallon tank and filled it up to use as my frag tank, painted the back glass, made a frag rack out of light diffuser, installed a heater, 30 gallon rated biowheel, added a nano korelia, added led lighting, waited for the temperature to level out and started moving over frags. Bryopsis will strike a clean spotless tank just the same as a dirty tank so despite what you may have been told if all you have is bryopsis in your tank then you do not have phosphates leaking from your live ...
  4. 9 hours well spent!

Well everything finally came in and so my day was spent putting it all together aside from the bio pellet reactor. I had requested a completely different one but to make a long story short Coral Vue sent me this bohemoth to make up for the delay, unfortunately I have no use for a reactor this big and will be trading it in on one a little more tank size appropriate (if they had sent me a larger skimmer that would be a different story though)

  5. Tax time = equipment upgrade!

For anyone who has not read any of my most recent posts (though most recent may still be a couple months old) I have been fighting with Caulerpa Toxifica and hair algae. I have done frequent water changes, water parameters check out good (with a test kit but I will hit on this subject again later), lighting is a few months old so still within spectrum, and I am close to hair falling out over the stress this is causing me lol. So now that everyone is caught up here is my thought process.
