  1. 9 hours well spent!

    Well everything finally came in and so my day was spent putting it all together aside from the bio pellet reactor. I had requested a completely different one but to make a long story short Coral Vue sent me this bohemoth to make up for the delay, unfortunately I have no use for a reactor this big and will be trading it in on one a little more tank size appropriate (if they had sent me a larger skimmer that would be a different story though)

  2. Tax time = equipment upgrade!

    For anyone who has not read any of my most recent posts (though most recent may still be a couple months old) I have been fighting with Caulerpa Toxifica and hair algae. I have done frequent water changes, water parameters check out good (with a test kit but I will hit on this subject again later), lighting is a few months old so still within spectrum, and I am close to hair falling out over the stress this is causing me lol. So now that everyone is caught up here is my thought process.

  4. My coral death seems to have come to a stop

    It seems I can finally rest easy again for a second as I have recorded 0 instances of death among my corals in a week. Nature seems to have run it's course and in fact whatever it was the chaeto must have learned to like because i turned it over to rotate it for light and it exploded in an orgy of growth. As previously stated in older posts all test showed signs being good with no spikes or drops in any parameter and the same can still be told today. I did run out of carbon through the process and ...

  5. Coral Death Update

    Water changes do not seem to be helping what so ever and all parameters are still testing good. whatever is killing corals in my tank has even the zoas and xenia looking sick and my smaller frags of monti caps that just so happened to be low laying and bleached out now as of this morning so as of right now I have 4 different species of coral death confirmed by this unknown killer still no sign of distress in the fish but I fear it is only a matter of time before I have a full on dead tank on ...
