Any comments of how the order came out?
Sounds good! Always good to have good online retailers. Was the shipping rate reasonable?
Hey any more info on this? Really liked their site and wanted to get some rics from them.
Good looking out
I am eager to see what happens. I agree with Marc, vendors don't usually come out shady, they become shady over time or as I like to call, "showing their true selves."
Looking forward to hearing your results. Something to keep in mind is that some new vendors will jump through hoops to get some good publicity online before they end up being unbelievably shady. I've no idea whom you are shopping with so I can say that without fear of backlash. It has happened locally to our club as well as further away via e-tail. Sometimes it is best to just sit back and wait. Or buy locally.
Thanks for the words of encouragement. I'm really looking forward to getting a good schedule going, and sticking with it. Don't have many sps but I did loose one completely, was able to save two by fragging.
I was the same way, I neglected basic things like testing and water changes for a long time, and my tank went south. My sps faded, hair algae took over the tank, and nothing grew. I got serious and started testing, doing weekly wc and changed my feeding regimen. As a result my sps started growing, hair algae went away and everything is coloring up again. I discovered that I had low alk and ph. Now that my garage is freezing and it's near impossible to get my water up to temp I've slacked on the changes, and my hair algae is starting to come back. Keep up with it and you'll get results.
According to my math I increased it by 0.73dkH. Holding off for a bit, and will keep testing. Thanks :-)
Careful, if your tank has slowly swung from nine or so, down to six over six months time, a DKH swing of 1 per day might be too much for some SPS to handle. JMO.
I like using the Deltec / D&D putty. It's pink like coralline, and stays sticky for a while. It also won't turn to stone in mere minutes. I've had good luck with it in my reef when placing new corals.
I'll definitely have to give that a try!
Agreed. I put super glue gel on the epoxy, stick the frag in, put more glue on the bottom, and then press firmly into the rock. Works pretty much every time. It's still able to be removed for relocation of you need it too.
I've always done a mix of putty and super glue. It gets all over your fingers but before you shove the putty down, squeeze a blog of super glue on it then use the frag plug to shove glue and putty into the crevice.
I'll check that out thanks.
Correct. If you are wondering what that thing in the front is, its in the Leather family but I can't be more specific than that with this image.
What camera are you using? Exposure Compensation is your friend. If your camera has a +/- button, hold it down and turn the wheel toward the plus to speed up the shutter speed. By letting it close more quickly, less light gets into the lens.
Just did a search on Halimeda, it's the stuff on the rock next to the pagoda. LOL! I got that in my tank when I bought that Pink Frag above the Tang on the left. I've pulled most of out during the maintenance on Sunday.
Marc, thanks I actually had no idea what it was. Bought it as "GSP" about 6 years ago.. then quickly found out it's not GSP. If you look closely you'll see the leather is actually attached to a hammer. Just separated them on Sunday doing maintenance.
Thanks for the advice... no telling how old these kits are :-\
