i have a 24x24x18"h system with a 20g sump that i want to change. i want to create a macro algae display. this is a learning curve for me so anyone have suggestions for starting-up?

i have been unsuccessful at keeping acans in my 90g mixed reef and can never figure out why, until now.

something always picks on my acans until they give in and fade away. always thought there must be a crab or something eating them. three months ago i took them out and placed them in a separate system where they thrived and coloured up nicely.

i decided to place them into the display again but this time they would be up higher attached to the glass on a frag rack ...

i keep a mixed reef. 90g display with approx. 40g. sump. minus the LR it's about 100g.
for years i have been dosing the big 3 manually and now with a SA doser.
i have never used a reactor and i am curious to how difficult or simple they are to use?
even with the stand alone doser, i need to test and adjust on an ongoing basis.
would this be the same with a reactor?
not really sure how they work?
