My 29g has come a long way! I decided to go crazy with an all SPS tank. I got rid of several really nice corals and cut my rock way back, but I absolutely love the tank now! It hurt most getting rid of my Australian Gold Torch Coral, but I gave it to a friend up the road who I knew would take care of it and I'd still get to watch it grow and look great. :-) I'm beginning to become a bit of an SPS Freak... My filtering is currently about 30ml of Biopellets in a NextReef ...
Today I did a bit of work, cleaned the GHA up from the bad RO water I got from a lfs (got my RO/DI unit ordered now), cleaned out my reactor and replaced my chemi-pure elite and purigen. Also grabbed a few frags from Tony (Grimreefer on DFWMAS)... of course they were more like mini-colonies. Tony always exceeds expectations... always. Really loving the tank... and I'm starting to truly run out of room. I keep saying I'm out of space, but I never truly am. I'm guessing I could fit a few more ...
Here are some pics of my 29g under these Orphek fixtures. I've got to say... the ML-7UV puts out some SICK colors. I loved it. :-) Here's a pic of my open brain coral under my current moon light. Here's a pic of my open brain under the ML-7UV moon light/actinic fixture. This is a full tank shot under my current moon ...
Nothing too new with the tank this month. I've been watching my water parameters to see how long I could go without a water change. No increase in nitrates whatsoever still. I've tested 0 for over four months straight now (test works fine, I've got another batch of rock cycling). Calcium dropped down a little bit to around 420 and I noticed my monti cap lose some of it's green tint. In the next couple of weeks I'll be getting in and installing my Next Reef reactor, an MP10ES and maybe a few ...

Finally took some pics with the whites on as well. I'm going with less light during the day while I fight off the GHA (which I'm beating, it's in retreat), so my whites are only on for 4 hours. That means they're off by 5pm, so they're usually off by my free time after supper in the evenings. I'm beating GHA the old fashion way. Shortened/reduced photo period (meaning the photo-period is shorter, and I'm using less lights during that shorter period), and reduced feeding. Good chaeto ...
