I have questions that need answers.
I am wondering about my filter socks. I change 20 gallons of RODI water every 2 weeks and add supplewments weekly. Also I change out my filter socks weekly but they seem to get plugged by about day 6. My schedule was off this week and the socks got plugged and the water bypassed them and ran like that for about 4 days. The tank remained perfectly clear and I am wondering if the filter socks are really necessary. It seems ther would be more microscopic food available for the corals and feather dusters ...
I just finished getting my RODI filter set up in my basement. The water is stored in a 40 gallon Rubbermaid Brute garbage can. I have a submersible utility pump feeding a hose to transfer the water up to the main floor with a valve at the end. My question is regarding the brass fitting on the end of the hose. It is attatched to the pump under the water and my intent was to leave the pump set up in the tank but I am wondering if the brass fitting will be an issue. ...
So I finally got my ro-di filter set up after the Christmas rush and am now ready to start using the water for top ups and water Changes... my Question is how long should I take to change the tank water to ro-di mix. Thanx Kitch40
What would cause my salinity to creep downward...I only replace the evap with freshwater. I am going to add some extra salty water to raise it back up and am curious as to where the salt is going.
Further to my queery about using the de humidifier water for makeup water, which I wont do (thanks to all), is 2 1/2 gallons of kalkwasser per day to use fur make up water? Because the pH is so high I thought it might be too much.
