I have questions that need answers.
Hello All, Am getting 75+ lbs of marco rock tomorrow, and so, I'm really close on beginning to cycle the tank, can some one review these working steps I made and see if I've covered my bases correctly or perhaps could change the order, if something is not right. To recap, here's my setup Building a Reef with a 120 Gallon tank. So far, my empty tank looks like this: 29 Gallon sump/fuge, a rio 3100 return via a diy Weir/overflow with 1 inch drain. Hello all, Whats your favorite Plumbing Store(s) online? Am looking to find 3/4 or 1 inch Barbed connector to a Union , and or a Ball valve or other valve assembly. Thanks, Aaron
Hello All, My weekend project was to build a Quarantine Tank and start it cycling. I built the cabinet from scratch wood leftovers and the tank used to be a red ear slider Turtle tank. All in all I'm impressed that it's straight and level... lol. Now, I've read a lot about the various ways to cycle a tank and was wondering if anyone has ever tried the dead shrimp into the tank as a biological medium to start the cycle on its way? And what is the relationship ...
I Plan on putting in a mag drive 7 return pump with a head flow at 4ft approx 480 gph which equates to about cycling the tank water about 4 times per hour. I'll split the returns to 2 with a SCWD and place them just off of center. I also have 2 Rio 1700 Power heads the the ends of the tank. Do I need more water current in the tank??? If so, I was thinking about the Koralias, just not sure what size/flow rate and position. Are there any good ideas for which water pushers need ...

In recap, 120 Gallon tank, the Sump is modeled after a Model F from marc's designs out of a 29 gallon aquarium (overflow splits to 2 sections, 1st being where the skimmer will sit and the 3rd section where the fuge is.) BTW, the Ball valve is located above the fuge....I could leave this one open and cut in a new Ball valve right over ...
