I woke up today excited to receive my pallet from Premium Aquatics. It arrived 2.5 hours later than promised, which delayed my other project but what could I do about that? The pallet has Tropic Eden sand, both dry and many trays of live sand for the new tank. Two bags of calcium reactor media by Tropic Eden (large reef 'bones' type), Sybon reef salt, filter socks, Vertex NP pellets, bulkheads, Phosphate Control, thermometers and more. The driver had to make two trips up the driveway with his ...
Over the weekend, I tackled a relatively small project that turned into an exhausting task. I bought a new flapper from Home Depot, but that didn't ...
My return pump has chugged along for 1,815 days in a row, running 23.5 hours a day. Every night for about 30 minutes, the return pump is turned off while I feed the tank, then restarted once they've had their feasting period. The Little Giant - OPGW-46, tired and wailing: Over the past month, it didn't always want to restart. I tried spraying some silicone lubricant on the shaft, and chipped ...
Is it time to change your RO/DI filters? I date my system each time they are changed out, to help me keep track. They should be changed every six months, so I'm actually a month late in doing so. Whoops. However, the TDS reads zero, so there's no reason to worry, right? Wrong. After turning off the water source and opening the valve after the system to bleed off the pressure within, I removed ...
