  1. Pictures under 20,000K lighting

These images were resized only, no color adjustment. These images were taken under the new ReefBrite Twin Arc bulbs running 20,000K. 250w - 400w - 250w cofiguration. Since the center of the tank has a huge glass centerbrace, the 400w helps punch through the glass.

The easiest cure is to replace the bulbs. I've been dragging my feet on this project out of sheer stubbornness. I really wanted to change them out when the 400g was back. That's when I have to take ...

  3. Jellyfish at the Monterey Bay Aquarium

During my trip last week, I shot some video of the beautiful jellyfish on display. Enjoy!

A couple of other additions made the video. Gotta love the iPhone's capabilities.

  4. Safety Stop - do you use it?

Yesterday our club held its Summer Social event: two air-conditioned chartered buses drove about 70 members around the metroplex to visit five local sponsors (fish stores). A lot of planning went into the event, and each store prepped for the sudden onslaught of potential customers pouring into their doors at once. I took plenty of pictures and will be sharing an upcoming blog about the entire day in the very near future.

As we left each store, some newly purchased livestock was carefully ...

  5. LFS: AquaSD in San Diego, CA

During my trip to sunny California last week, my first stop was AquaSD. I've followed their online postings for a while, but had never gotten inside the store. Until now.
