I ordered the rolling kit for the new light rack from McMaster yesterday. www.mcmaster.com - Part # 1223A22 Then I ordered all the parts from www.EzTube.com to make the light rack itself. Wes was kind enough to make me a break out image of the order. It should ship out tomorrow and arrive next week. I'm going to order some acrylic rod with my next acrylic order to create some supports for the rockwork. That way if something ...
To assure that an aquarium is level, it is important to use a 4' level and check it all four directions. A tank out of level puts additional stress on the seams and can lead to leakage. A few weeks ago I leveled my new tank using aluminum shims, but Dion was kind enough to send me some composite shims that can handle getting wet and won't dissolve, rust or corrode. You can buy composite shims at your hardware store. They are usually tapered, and these would be used under the stand to level a ...
I've been using Tropic Eden sand in my tank for the past couple of years. For 2011 however, I need to work on a better mindset. Rather than fear the worst, I need to get back into the routine of testing to avoid problems. ...
Today, I had to deal with a strangely warped pair of studs the altered the structure of the kitchen wall. It wasn't apparent until I installed the new studs, and even then I was left scratching my head because it just didn't seem possible. These studs were so rounded that I figured they had to be rejects or over-sized. However, the tape measure indicated they were 3.5" wide at various points, and the board was curved significantly. More than 1" actually. You can see how the wall's ...
