Today is the 25th day since the reef was taken down... the livestock has been in vats and I've done my best to maintain stable water parameters. Within the first few days, alkalinity shot up to 15dKH, and it took a week to let that burn off to 9 again. Currently, the water measures 10 dKH and the calcium reactor seems to be dialed in for the current set up. Within the first few days, PO4 was .03ppm. I was looking at my tank and not hating it today.
I took some pictures today to share with you. Then this evening, I decided to get wet and work on my tank. A few corals have been moved, as many Majanos as I could find were nuked, and some algae was pruned out. In the process, some SPS were broken, removed, or relocated. As you probably understand, I won't know for a few days if I like the changes but it needed doing. There are no pictures of the changes yet because I worked until I was down to LED Moonlighting for the last few adjustments. ...
Today I drove over to Fish2morow, a fish store in Fort Worth about 30 minutes away with good traffic. As I walked around his beautiful store checking out the choice corals and fish, I started noticing little things.
