  1. Next Wave 2011 - Saturday, February 26, 2011 - video teaser

For those of you that are within driving range of the Dallas/Fort Worth area, I wanted to share a little snippet. One of our speakers is Gerald Heslinga, who is flying in for our Next Wave 2011 conference on February 26. Who is Gerald? He's the owner of IPSF.com - Indo-Pacific Sea Farms.

And here's a video he shared on Facebook today.

His topic is going to be "Sustainable Pacific Island Mariculture" and he will be talking ...

  2. The Marineland 400g is level

And like that, the tank is now level. I ran up to Home Depot and bought some 2" flat aluminum stock. An 8' stick was $17.50, and I cut it up into 6" sections with a jigsaw using a metal-cutting blade.

The aluminum is 1/8" thick. ...

  3. Sump chatter

  5. The Blue Ocean, filmed wit the RED camera.

Red cameras are awesome, and don't cost nearly as much as the typical ones used for film making. The body runs about $20,000 (instead of something 10x as expensive) and uses standard Nikon lenses. I remember watching a great movie earlier this year filmed entirely with the Red camera, District 9. Another one was Book of Eli.
