  1. Japan's turmoil

I know we've not talked about this on R.A. since it isn't reef-related, but I just have to say that I'm deeply saddened by the continuing news coming from Japan regarding the massive earthquake (biggest they've ever had), the tsunami, and now the nuclear reactor plants that are basically melting down for all intents and purposes. 2. Cool picture from tonight

I was shooting some macro pictures this evening, and liked how this one came out. I call it "Ghostly Hammers".

  4. Top down pictures

Every few months, I like to take top down pictures of my corals. Using a Top Down Photo Box, I'm able to penetrate the surface of the water and avoid any reflections from the lighting above.

I decided to get a bunch of pictures of the frags that were added last month as well as some of my corals that survived the ordeal of the tank breakdown and rebuild.

  5. Pictures at dusk

When the third MH is the only light on, the bommie has a very pretty dusk look to it. It's one of my favorite times to view my reef from the kitchen-side. I tried to capture that look and feel recently.
