  1. I see the light at the end of the tunnel... I think

    Hey everyone

So in the past 3 weeks I have finally added a protein skimmer and started using RO/DI water.. its hard to tell if things are better yet but I know my mushrooms and buttons arent doing super well yet.. Now my concern is my lights.. The green algae is growing still pretty fast.. My T5s are a little over a year old now.. Do you think that would help the nusance algae to grow and polyps to look bad?
Especially the algae.. the polyps have not been looking good for a ...
  2. Top up water...

Hey all... so someone at work the other day brought up something interesting... He said do you have a dehumidifyer?.. I thought.. hmm.. yes. could I?
So I'll be honnest I never thought of that, but.. Does anyone know if I could use that to top off my tank?

I don't have RO/DI right now so thats out of the question.. I live in the country and we are on a well.. Do you think the dehumidifyer would be better then the tap water?
  3. Seagrass Filefish

I just recently aquired a seagrass filefish. He is pretty cool. But I did get him for one reason. I have a plague of aptasia in my tank that just has to go.. cant take it anymore. Was going to get maybe a burgia nudibranch, but went with the Monacanthidae instead. He seems to be doing pretty good but doesnt seem to be going after the aptasia. I'm sure that it's probly normal that you will get one that doesnt eat aptasia, just like you'll get some that are not reef safe... But perhaps its because ...
  4. New clown not so clownish

    Hey Everyone

So after many months and one move my aquarium needed some life.
I purchased an Ocellaris and couple of days ago. He is still alive.. lol. No but he has been hanging out in the corner a lot and right at the top as well.
I wondering if he is just still in shock.. he is captive bread and was in a tank with about 30 of them. But he seems streassed.. and his gills seem quite open. I tested all the regular parameters, and no trace of anything... is the water lacking ...

  5. return pump

    Hey all

So Im thinking about upgrading my aquarium soon.. I have a 40 gal tank, and would probably get a 65 gal drilled tank.
This will be my first experience with a sump.. I mean I have made water changes and worked in sumps before, but never started from scratch.
Fo the sump I would probably use a 20 gal long tank. My questions are mostly for the return pump.. what would be a good strenght pump for that size tank?
