When I first setup my tank, the guy at the LFS suggested Crushed Coral, and now after doing some actual research and even from my own experience, ive come to the conclusion that CC is not the best for my tank. Of course, now Im stuck with the task of changing my substrate, but my question to you guys is this: How do I go about doing this without putting unnecessary stress on my fish and corals? I dont have a quarantine tank, so I'd rather not risk extracting my fish unless I absolutely need to. ...

Alright, so after talking with Phil, I went ahead and purchased some new lighting, and im very impressed. I bought a 24-30" Odyssea with quad lamps and moonlight LEDs. The packaging was excellent, with bubble wrap on everything. I was slightly nervous about the bulbs, as they sounded like they were broken, but they turned on perfectly.

As far as lighting quality, all I have to say is stunning. My corals and even my fish look gorgeous. For 70 dollars and free shipping, this lighting ...

I now have two frags of soft corals, a zoa and I forgot to ask my LFS what the other one was. I got lost in its awesomeness and made a hasty purchase. Take pics tonight.

But, my question is this: Should I continue using 10K bulbs during the day, and switch to 420 actinics at night? or invest in a dual bulb hood and use both lighting all day? I just want to check and make sure I keep my coral buddies as healthy as possible.
Any input is greatly appreciated

Had a casualty today. Lost a 6-lined wrasse to my LTA, after only four hours of being introduced into the tank. I think the wrasse was trying to pick a piece of krill from the LTA's disc and got himself stuck.
Also, I'm going to have to find a new home for one of my clowns, theyre fighting very aggressively and one has retreated to a corner and is losing color.
Tried moving the LR around, turning the lights off, introducing new stock, almost everything I could think of to cause some ...

Its been a while since I've last updated, but heres a rundown of my tank. I also have a question regarding bristleworms :P

New additions:
-Camel Shrimp: By far the most active shrimp ive ever seen! Definitely a good shrimp for the 7 dollars I payed

-Pencil Sea Urchin: Hes about the size of a bouncy ball, and very beautifully colored. I'll post some pictures tomorrow

-Long Tentacled Anemone: HUGE! Posting a picture
