Well I decided I just was sick of having a tank that could be seen from space.The 2 250s I had over my 75 were (to me) just too much light.So I picked up a T5 setup and I love it.
Sure theres no shimmer,, but theres also no crazy heat issues or blinding lights..also the fixture is all in one so no ballasts and alot fewer cords and timers.
I was having to run T5 actinics anyway to get the colors I wanted so I just through another 2 bulbs in there.

Well the forecast has 30 degree temp swings on offer this week so it must be springtime.
For me this has been very educational with regards to my tank.
I have no chiller,Im not planning one either.I intend to just keep the house at a nice 70F at all times and run the 3 fans I have (2 in the canopy one blowing over the sump).
Temps here in summer are above 90 for months so we shall see if Ive planned well enough.

Well its been a real learning curve these last few months.
Ive seen diatoms, cyano and film algae come and go.
Ive learned my trace element daily usage and have a weekly test regime.
Ive had a couple of bad days but learned something each time.
My tank is still only moderately stocked.Ive tried to leave room for growth.My base rock has been nicely seeded and is beginning to purple up.
The sump is basically unchainged with the fuge filled with pods.

I live less than one mile from the best reef store in town, so Im in there alot.
