It's been awhile since my last post and my 180 is up and running. After 6 months im glad to finally have a few pieces of livestock in the tank. So far it consists of 4 pj's 2 firefish 4 turbo snails and 10 red leg hermit crabs. Going to be adding to the clean up crew over the next month and will wait till the tanks been running for awhile longer before I start adding any corals. After having issues with the sand I feel that i probally didnt clean it well enough before adding it to the main tank ...
Picked up a 55gal out of the local trade paper for the rock and substrate out of it for 100 bucks so i thought why not drill it and set up a cycle tank while im working on the 180. I got 2 over flow boxes off ebay for 45 dollars each that came with the cup saws for glass they were said to be 1200gph each but when i got them I didnt feel they would carry the 180 so why not drop them in this 55gal Attachment 4040Attachment 4041this is what the kit came with ...

Well making alittle progress I find im my own worst enemy when it comes to trying to make my mind up on things. Getting the area cleaned out was a major ordeal, boarder line episode of hoarders, years of packing away leftover construction supplies saving me some money but what a mess. Find myself moving things over and over again every time I go to do something, sure no-one else has this problem, so alot of old half done fix it up project hit the trash over the last 2 weeks and we will just ...

I stoped by a lfs and found these tanks today. I was just wondering if any one has seen these set ups before. I am in the process of making room in the basement for my fish room which has been kind of slow due to me being crippled up from a work injury in 08 so depending some on a bother in law that thinks im nuts. Taking out a 5 ft thick sandstone block and dirt support wall has really sucked, but since im now retired at 36 i need to full some time so i going to get back into it with both feet. ...
