  1. Quick Beaked Leather Jackets Update

My Beaked Leather Jackets (that is what the Australians call them vs. Orange Spotted File Fish the Americans call them, I like the Aussie name better) continue to do very well. They eat mysis, nutramar ova, flake food, and even sera marin granules. I thought I would take a few quick pictures.

  2. Tank video update

Here is an video update of my tank. The orange spot file fish are eating just about everything I put in the tank, flakes, pellets, mysis and their favorite nutramar ova. All three leopard wrasses are doing very well too.

The banded coral shrimp actually released babies again last night.

The corals are growing well (as far as my newbie eyes can tell) under my led lights.

I got my new Orange Spotted File Fish (Oxymonacanthus longirostris) from Diver's Den. Here is a little video

Now some of you may be thinking "What a nut job!" doesn't he know they eat sps polyps. My response is yes, I am a nut job and I do know what they eat. I took that into consideration when getting the fish. These fish have been conditioned to eat various frozen foods but I still expect them for find polyps tasty. I have ...

It will be two weeks tomorrow since I introduced 3 blue star leopard wrasses to my tank. They are known to be easily stressed but I took some precautions, as described in my last blog entry. After introduction into the tank the wrasses will generally bury themselves in the sand bed, sometimes for a week+.

Wrasse #1 emerged 2 days after introduction to the tank and is out every morning to great me and eat. Generally she is back in the sand by late ...
