  1. Crab - Judgment Day

I have been watching a black crab, that looks and acts like an emerald crab. His claws are white and flat on the tips (like an emerald crab) but seem to be a bit more "serrated" on the inside in the arch. I have not witnessed any mischievous behavior but I wanted to see what judgment should be cast on the guy. Should let him stay in the display or IF I can catch him (and that s a big IF) should I banish him to the sump?

I have a video of him from last night.

  2. Cube of Fun update (Pictures and Video)

Well, took part in my first frag-swap over the weekend. I found the event very interesting and exciting. I reserved some items in advance and of course I had to make a few impromptu acquisitions as well. I have pictures and video of the new critters! Please forgive my camera skills, still learning the how to operate the new camera.

  3. Cucumber adopted into Cube of Fun

Last night I adopted a cucumber from someone who was going bare bottom and had a beautiful collection of fish that he no longer wanted to be at risk of a cuke nuke.

I am completely aware of the potential of the cucumber going atomic on my tank. I do not have much in my tank in terms of fish and coral and I am keeping a very close eye on the critter.

One concern I do have is that my sand may be a bit big for him to swallow. ...

  4. Not just for Clean up Crew any more

The Cube of Fun is no longer just an exclusive hangout for clean-up-crew members only. Keep in mind, even though I just recently started posting, the tank has been up for over 8 weeks and has cycled.

Two new buddies, Calypso and Storm (yes, I name fish, do not judge)

I got this Frogspawn frag. It was broken off and was laying on the bottom of a tank not looking so good. I figured I would ...

  5. Critters in the Cube of Fun

I just realized by making successive blog posts that I am monopolizing the "Recent Post" section on the right side of the home page, I apologize and promise this is my last blog entry for a while.

The algae bloom came out in full force a few weeks ago, but is now mostly gone. I actually grabbed several pieces of the fast growing macro lettuce algae and tossed it in the refugium. It is growing well and I plan on putting a few pieces in the display tank from time to time to ...
