I found a lone black and gold chromis in Myrtle Beach while I was down there... I'd like to get my hands on a few more but it's the first and only time I've seen one

Sorry to hear that. Keeping a QT stable is tricky. They got hot, they get cold, they evaporate and salinity swings fast. It's just like running a Pico tank; you have to be all over it.

With mine, I take water from my display for QT water changes. That way they are always getting good water from my reef, the water they are going to be living in soon enough. Then any new (aged & mixed) saltwater is added to the reef to replace what was taken.

That's a good idea Midnight, I didn't do that when I did the "cold WC" I describe in the post where Mr. Six died... I used new SW which was still too cold.... stupid me.

You're right about the MP10 :-) I actually did clean it a little later when I relocated it. Have to clean it every 2 months, roughly.

I'm convinced Aiptasias can leave "eggs" (or whatever they use to reproduce) inside our live rocks' pores, and survive forever in our tanks. That's why I decided (specially after Mr.Six's death) to always keep peppermint shrimp in the tank, and only take fish who don't eat them. Same thing for the Mithrax crabs, I intend to always have at least one, to take care of the Valonias I'm sure I'll never get 100% rid of.

Thanks for the pointer, I'll see if I an get some focused lights down there. Right now it is just a 25W PC light without any hood over it helping to focus light downwards.

Crazy man. Once they are out, they are out for good. No way it's going back in my tank to wreak havoc once again.

Nicely done. It wasn't as bad as you feared.

You would need to use a fishtrap to catch him (as I saw in your next blog). Sorry about the aiptasia infestation; we've all had to deal with those. I saw two tiny ones in my reef tonight, and need to deal with that asap. Looks like the Mp10 needs a good soaking.

It does look a little dim in your pictures. More light might help.

Wine was red, but only the head chef got a sip, fishies all under 18 :-D (no wine for the little sous chef either :-) but I think he'd be more interested in chocolate milk than wine:-D )

That sounds like a good idea! I thought about using a mini ice cube tray but couldn't find one in the supermarket's plastics section. They sometimes carry one that makes very small ice cubes.

Was the wine "Red" or "White"

(a local group do this, and they press the food in a cookie sheet with a section of egg crate on it. then after its frozen, they rack it like an ice tray and pop the cubes out. then its ready to feed and you get a even feed every time. Just a thought)

Great! Mine appears to be more active after the primaries go off as well. Enjoy them, mine has quite the personality... most people who find him like him the most out of everyone in my tank.
