  1. I'm alive, I swear!

I'm alive, and so is Tibet. I've just been disgustingly busy lately and its not been favorable for the tank.

Just a quick update with some camera shots to keep the build alive. Tibet is now fully finished and fully cured. I'm just waiting on a few orders to come in to plug up the holes to do the first official water test.

Hack January 2011 FTS. Note all the bulkheads! Only missing 4 now. I cleaned out one of my LFSs on boxing day, and they still didn't have enough in ...

  2. Time to pull that trigger!

I got the final OK to re-quote the tanks (sump and display). So now I'm starting on the process of approaching each and every company on my list for a new quote for the tanks. My Leg Tank, a water storage container, for our water change system is finally at our house. Its hanging out in the garage making friends with our other renovation materials. After everything was said and done I ended up paying about $250 for the tank, as I received a large discount for the issues we had receiving it. I have no idea when I'm going to get to installing it, but at least now we have it, and can sort out our plumbing order so we can get moving once again.

  4. Water change system 90% complete!

by , 08-12-2010 at 09:09 AM (T.I.B.E.T (The Incredibly Big Expensive Tank))
I just finished placing my order for the second to last piece of our automatic water change system; a HDPE Heavy Duty Horizontal Leg tank. Last purchases are actual plumbing parts, but I've learned my lesson about pre-ordering before I've figured out 100% what I'm trying to accomplish.

I have to say though the 55g garbage containers we've been using since 2004/2005 have done us very well. I want to re-purpose them but can't figure out how. I may just offer them up for sale at a really ...
