Personally, I find the more obnoxious the clown, the more I love it. That's why I still have "Big Momma" my female black oce that killed 8 males before finally picking a mate.
I could expect that from a maroon. who knew a ocellaris?
Hmmm. . . had a tiger barb a long time ago that was a killer, freshwater btw. Anyway after the 3rd or 4th he took a ride on the ole porcelain express. My blue damsel pair are killers as well, got a yellow damsel because the rest of the family thought it was "pretty" that lasted about 48 hours or so. I want to get a pair of maroon clowns at some point but wont' be much else in the tank with them especially fish wise.
yeah I am trading it in as soon as I get my huge acan. Like I posted above this is his 5th kill. Biocolor blenny, royal gramma, yellow watchmen goby, rainford goby and of course the shrimp. You would think I would learn on the second try!
Some can really be a terror, as you can see.
That's horrible!! I personally don't really like clowns. I don't think I'd have another one in my tank.
really?!?! crap I thought It would this time.... sorry
not working still
I think I promiced the vid of shrimp releasing eggs. here it is! "http://www.facebook.com/v/141397319227456
To eliminate cyano, increase flow and add more clean up crew. Or leave off the lights for three days. Or treat the tank with a product like Chemi-Clean or RedSlime Control.
any advice on the cyano? I feed 2 times a week if that helps any.
Only if you're trying to recreate a whirlpool environment.
thanks Alaska Phil, I was worried that I might have to get another.
LPS corals like that don't need, or like a lot of powerful current. I've got 2 of those Koralia 1's in my 50 long, they're pretty mild and 1 of them should be fine in your 29 when coupled with the filter section return.
For what sized tank?
is my powerhead powerful enough???
yeah I got cyno but its been only around for a week. I ordered a powerhead from amazon yesterday. http://www.amazon.com/KORALIA-UL-400...0778296&sr=8-9 The tank that has the Euphyllia is a 29 gallon oceanic biocube.
That's a coral in the Euphyllia family. Is there anything in your tank that seems to be picking at it? Is your tank presently dealing with cyano bacteria? Put it in an area of low flow and not directly under the hottest spot of your lighting. You still have one side that looks healthy, but the other one is peeling away. You may be lucky and it won't quite let go. That happened in my tank a few months ago.
Octopus coral is the same as grape coral which is essentially just another name for the frogspawn walls.
