Looks like a frog spawn to me. I've got a nice soft ball sized colony in my tank that started out the size of one of your heads about 5 years ago. Never heard of an octopus coral before, possibly another common name for the frogspawn?
thanks. I might try zoanthids...
Sure, that's fine.
its a mag float.
Is the magnet encased in anything? You don't want it rusting in your tank. There's a company that makes them, and I've used them with good results. www.aqua-mags.com You can grow corals anywhere you like. It may make it hard to clean the equipment (like a powerhead), but it does help hide it.
oh and powerheads.
no I didnt. sorry
You catch the event on video? That would be sweet to see.
my peppermint released some babies last night. The whole event reminded me of oat meal in a calucium reactor. I hope that some live and eat some aiptasia.
I used pickling lime and lemon juice for the Majono's and haven't had any since. As far as Aptasia in the past I've had peppermint shrimp that did a fantastic job within a week of adding them all was gone. When I switched tanks I lost a couple of shrimp and the aptasia returned. I tried the pickling lime and lemon juice and while it was effective I just couldn't keep up. So I bought a Copper Banded Butterfly even though I knew it was risky, its been almost eight months and I still have the CBB (fat and healthy) and no aptasia.
tell me your experiences. love to hear them
