Yeah, I've noticed that if I increase the Zoom level it goes haywire. Make sure your resolution is accurate, and you are at 100% zoom level ...that means I can't read the site from across the house, but everything works properly.

You need to increase the resolution of your monitor. 800x600 is too small. 1024 x 768 minimum, or larger. To read the fonts, hold down your Control Key and tap the + and - buttons until you find the text the perfect readable size.

Thanks Hat39406, uggg, my smart phone is changing words on me again, to clearify, I have a 36 gal pm sump, not dump. lol with refugium and a red line pm skimmer, not a recline skimmed, my problem right now is the long hair algae. I got rid of most of it, but startting to come back again. I need to get a sufficient cleaning crew.. I just changed 2 of my lights, but changed the 10k hali with a 14k, but I am just about to loose a nice hammer I had, I will give it another week with the new lights to see if it lives. my duncan started to die, but I think it is ok know, looking much better. I did loose my bubble tip Anemones. and my recordia, i think that is what it is. is doing ok too. I am learning.

Thanks for the advice, I aggree I have a long ways to go, these are just some of the questions I have for the future, I have allot of diy set ups going right now. I have a water change down to under 15 min now and I do 2 10% changes a week. I actually enjoy testing my water and doing the deeds needed. But I am still curious on all that I read. 3 more pod casts and I will be caught up. If you guys see this post, I really enjoyed episode 30, I do like the video cast.

I totally agree with lvpd.cop. I wouldn't worry about vodka right now. Get your coral/fish you want right now. You still have a bit of a ride to go on for now. Keep your water quality up and parameters up and let your tank go through it's paces. It is unavoidable, no way out of it. In the mean time read, read, read as much as you can on the subject on UNLS systems. I did it for a while and after fighting with cyno and other issues that can arise from vodka dosing I give it up, wasn't my thing, and concentrated on water quality the old fashioned way. Water changes, a good carbon and gfo. I know Mark and many others have had great success. But you need to educate yourself as much as you can and be prepared to be committed to it. That was my problem, no commentment. I had done it the old fashioned way for so long I couldn't get my head wrapped around it. It can also cause bacteria problems in fish if your not careful. My .02. If I was you I wouldn't really mess with vodka. Your tank is still very new, you are going to end up going through some "new tank" stuff, like diatoms, algae, etc. that is very normal. Your best bet is to keep up your water quality and just ride out some of these things and not worry about dosing carbon.

I just started the NP Biopellets which is advertised as solid vodka dosing, ive only had it going now for a couple of days so not sure what the real results will be for a few weeks but it seems like the way to go and not having to dose all the time.
