Nice, I also like the color difference. Where did you get it?

I have a evil par38 spotlight. I think these are perfect for nano tanks and fuges. What are the optics and color temp of your bulb ?

What did it cost? Which vendor did you buy it from?

I had/have the same one. It's sitting in the attic waiting for the weather to change. I've used several types of fans to vent air outside. But the problem I've run into is they're not only powerful enough to pull the air outside, but they've been pulling air from outside into the house as well. Any little unsealed space in windows, doors, etc is an open invitation. Security and rain are the two issues I ran into with that fan, as well as it just didn't have enough power. So I just use it now when the weather's cooled off at night to pull that cool air into the house.

That is exactly what I'm wondering as well. I'm going to run it for a while and try to see if it's helping or hurting.

I love the idea... My concern is; if the room is connected to the central heat you are removing cool air during the summer and bringing in cold air during the winter, making it difficult to keep the temp in the room constant.

I did like the bulbs at first but I want more growth and "pop" to my corals. I'm using PFO fixtures (spider type reflectors). I know I need to upgrade those but that will have to wait. $$$ is a little tighter since the wedding and honeymoon.

Did you like the 15,000K bulb coloration, or did you want more or less blue? What reflectors are you using?

That's very nassarius like. Glad to hear it. It's always nice to have free snails.

    That's too cool

good to see I'm not the only snail breeder around here...

I came home after a week in myrtle beach to find probably 20 or so baby stomatellas scouring the glass on the tank

That's cool Marc! Hopefully the snails in the 2nd pic are Ceriths and not clam eating snails, that would be my luck.

awww...... but thanks Marc. I know that the ones in the top pics are nassarius because you can see the trunk extending from the front and the pad they move on. The bottom pic I think are the pyrams or ceriths, but they are way too small for me to decide. I'll check my clam today, because I'm leaning towards the pyrams.

Not to rain on your parade, but... I'm not so sure you have nassarius snails there. That cone shape is either tiny ceriths or the tiny pyram snails that can attack clams. http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2008-02/nftt/index.php

Nassarius are a different shape, no?

Let us know what you discover over time. They may not be pests after all.
