Well, for the past couple weeks I have been battling cyano. I thought maybe I would update the situation as I am sure lots of people are dealing with the same thing. I started dosing Brightwell Aquatics MB7 every other day at about a half dosage, which is in reality only a 1/4 dose due to it being every other day. I have been seeing a big improvement. I am keeping my fingers crossed, but at least there is something positive to post. I will update again with more results.
Well, after I set up my new tank I was feeling very pleased with myself, but reality would soon kick me in the testes once again as I have cyano covering all the sand and some rock. I attribute it to the stress of moving everything over to the new tank and the increased bioload of a couple new fishes. After 3 years in the hobby, I am just now finishing the 3rd tank in my progression into this great pursuit called reefkeeping. I started with a 29 which lasted about 6 months, then a 75 that has lasted till very recently. I have experimented with vodka dosing (ended real bad) and have been running zeo for the last year or so with very pale colors for the result.
