Congratulations again.

The first 4 days I used Phosguard, with Chemi-pure elite. Then I took out the Phosguard for several days and recharged it, and put it in for two more days. After that I threw the Phosguard out and ran Purigen and Chemi-pure elite, with a 3 days lights out period. I taped cardboard to the aquarium to limit as much light as I could from getting in the tank. I also ran my skimmer while I was doing all of this. Now only the Purigen and Chemi-pure elite sit in my AC70. I also did 5 gallon water changes twice a week, and will be cutting back to 5 gallons a week starting this week.

At this point Softies, and maybe a few LPS for corals. I would also like to get some gorgonians at some point, I just need to make sure they are the Photosynthetic kind. For Fish I'm thinking a black and white Clown pair. Maybe a Possum Wrasse, but haven't quite decided on that guy yet or which Possum Wrasse. The red ones look pretty cool. I used to have a Yellow band possum wrasse, and he was really neat to watch in the tank. I think they are very under appreciated fish.

That first graphic pictures - holy moly. It's like you wanted more cyano than anyone in the history of reefkeeping. lol! Glad to see it you tackled it head on; never fun but the results are obvious almost instantly.

Yes it is the powder kind, never knew they made a frozen one. I'll try the soaking, thanks.

It sure looked like it was eating the skirts, and the polyps that were hit first are still looking cruddy. After I did the CoralRX dip though (48 hours ago) the palys are opening and looking a lot better. It could have been this pd, or it could have had bad critters on it, but I didn't notice anything on them when they were in the tank, and after the dip, I didn't see any pests, except for FWs, but I don't think they were the culprit. The pod I caught on them a couple times on the skirts of these palys, not just around the rock and base of the palys as many of the pods do.

coral frenzy is another good coral food and it mixes in the tank well doesnt float

Was it actually eating the zoa/paly? I have witnessed several amphipods on and around my zoas/palys at night, but never eating them. I think they are eating detritus and what not around them, and just really aggravating them. A wrasse like a sixline will do heavy damage to their population.

yep, that is the culprit! I was doing some reading about people who have reported the same thing. Two things I found was that almost everyone that said this was happening had a low fish count, and didn't feed the tank often. I feed every other day, but it is minimal as I only have 1 small fish, the tiger goby (sad to report I lost the green band, not confirmed, but I have not seen it in a couple days). I will be getting some cyclopeeze soon to feed the whole tank, maybe this guy will get some and layoff the palys.

You must be referring to an Amphipod. From time to time, people report what you've described. This guy?

I'd say you set up the problem like

100g (0.473 J/g C) (125 C) + (200g) (4.186 J/g C) (25 C) = 100g (0.473 J/g C) (T) + (200g) (4.186 J/g C) (T)

then solve for T. I'm an engr major though so see if it makes sense yourself.
